We are proud to support and showcase local artisans at 528 | Victoria Falls.

Throughout 528 Victoria Falls we have used local artisans with the idea that supporting local talent is paramount and also that by doing so we end up with a unique look and feel that truly reflects the area we are in and the talent that lies here.

Our decorator was the very talented and colour loving Brigette Straw. Brigette headed up a talented team who carved intricate frescos into our walls and painted up a storm transforming our welcoming home into a beautiful oasis for weary travellers.

Our wallpaper is by Ardmore Design in collaboration with Cole and Sons. Ardmore has a fine tradition of celebrating African culture and Africa’s flora and majestic fauna: from rare birds to big cats, elephants, rhinos and mischievous monkeys. The Savuti wallpaper we chose to use is no exception to this and certainly sets the tone for our space.

We also highlighted a wall with a swathe of African Antics Baskets. This Community Project empowers woman through their basketry and uses recycled plastic. They work with female community groups in the Tsholotsho area which borders the Hwange National Park, and Sinde Village in Livingstone.

Topping our central spaces are unique and beautiful chandeliers by Bulawayo based Sam Jacobs Glass who upcycles glass into unique works of art and jewellery pieces.

We also used another proud Zimbabwean company for some of the ‘jewellery’ that adorns our bathrooms such as our beautiful copper basins. Copperwares Zimbabwe has been in operation since 1960 and who employ a proud team of skilled copper spinners, carvers, artists, polishers and admin staff at their factory in Harare.
